Pray for our country, because I never though that I would see a president of the United States turn their back on Israel, but we have one today. Pray that his heart be changed.

Our God is the God of Israel, How can any Christian turn their back on God's chosen people? Woe to those who do...........

This comes from a very dear Messianic believer with family in Israel. Please read it and pray for his family and for all who are being affected by these attacks.

10:15 PM Sunday night (Tel Aviv time)

Things are very serious here in Israel, and it could very well be the beginning of the third uprising/third anti-fada. It could also lead to an all out Arab attack against Israel from some of her surrounding neighbors (Syrian and Lebanon/Hezbollah in the North) as well as in Gaza. On Israel radio this afternoon, they said: "We are not at War."

Since Saturday my cousins have been in the bomb shelters in their home as the sirens wail, warming them to go into the shelters. In two days Hamas launched 150 rockets into Israel (that is what started the conflict in the first place).

Two years ago, Israel gave up control of the Gaza strip, and as we see, giving up land will never lead to peace. Hamas is a terrorist organization, though it is also the local government of Gaza.

My cousins: Yossi, Betty, and Maor live just 5 kilometers from Gaza in a Moshav (little suburb of about 50 homes). If you look on a map, it is in the backyard of Gaza. Since June they have been under attack by missiles, but nothing like what we have seen in the past week, and this led the Israeli government to take action.

I have been calling my cousins regularly to see how they are, and all they can hear behind the house are the mortar shells going off from both sides. The wailing warning sirens continuously go off and they have to go into the bomb shelters in their home every time they hear the sirens.

My other cousin Alon, works in the Tel Aviv central command post of the army and he said today that they expect this war “on terrorism” to go on for another three weeks.

Since June, rockets have landed in their backyard fields, and two years ago, a Qassam rocket smashed into a neighbor’s house, destroying the house and killing her instantly.

As former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak said: If San Diego was being shelled by rockets from Tijuana, Mexico would the U.S. government sit by and do nothing or would they do everything to stop the rocket attacks into California? And President Bush, Obama, and International leaders have condemned Hamas.

Please understand that Israel’s targets are not civilians. Over the past year they have gained intelligence on the locations of where Hamas is storing its weapons, and Israel’s only goal is to “destory” their weaponry which they have been using to fire on Israel’s civilian population. Most of the people killed are Hamas operatives. Unfortunately the Gaza civilian population hides the Hamas operatives and their weapons within the civilian population therefore there has been civilian casualties.

Yesterday, Israel helped a Palestinian Hamas terrorist after being wounded by rushing them to an Israeli Tel Aviv hospital to save his life.

Your prayers are most appreciated for my family who lives next to the Gaza strip and for the Israeli Believers here in the Land who fighting in this battle. Today 6500 reservists have been put on alert for duty.

It is too early to know where this war will go, however your prayers for safety are most appreciated.

Remember Isaiah 61:6-7, "I have posted watchmen on your walls, Yerushalayim; they will never fall silent, neither by day nor by night. You who call on ADONAI, give yourselves no rest; and give Him no rest till restpres Yerusshalayim and makes it a praise on earth."

(Washington, D.C., November 10, 2008) -- Tensions in the epicenter are running high as the world watches closely to see if Israel is going to launch preemptive strikes against Iran during this window between the U.S. elections and the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama on January 20th, or if Iran will use this window to launch preemptive strikes against Israel.

I make no predictions about what will happen. My team and I continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the entire region. We're praying for a peaceful regime change in Tehran and Damascus and for a respite from all the wars and rumors of wars. We have great faith that this can happen. But we don't pretend to know exactly how events will play out. Thus, we are continuing to prepare for the worst case scenarios.

Among them:

* an apocalyptic, prophetic war in the Middle East involving Israel and Iran

* another "regular" but horrifying geopolitical war in the region as a follow-up to the Second Lebanon War in 2006

* catastrophic al Qaeda attacks in the U.S., Europe and/or in the Holy Land

Most of our Joshua Fund team is on the ground in Israel right now, making preparations to provide more food, clothing, medical equipment and other emergency relief supplies to those who need them presently, and those who could be victims of coming wars and terrorist attacks. Lord willing, I leave for Israel tomorrow to join them and will do my best to send updates during that trip.

* OLMERT AT RABIN MEMORIAL: WE MUST GIVE UP PARTS OF JERUSALEM: "If we want to keep Israel Jewish and democratic, we need to give up parts of the homeland we have dreamed about for generations and [mentioned] in our prayers, even Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, and to return to a 1967 Israel with certain amendments," he said. "The decision must be made now. The moment of truth has arrived. There is no escaping it, but [the opportunity] can be missed. If, God forbid, we dither, we will lose the support for the idea of two states. There is no need to expand on the alternative…Rabin will win."

Iran says it tested nuclear bomb

An senior Iranian source has told Israel Insider that a weekend earthquake in Iran measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale was actually an underground nuclear bomb test.

The source, who claims he is a scientist aiding Iran's uranium enrichment efforts, also said that the tremor was the second in a series of nuclear tests. He said the first was recorded as a 4.8 earthquake on October 21 with its epicenter just three miles from the center of the more recent seismic event.

He said that China and North Korea have helped Iran accelerate its nuclear program far beyond where Western powers believe it stands.

The source went on to reveal that Iran now has two nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles ready for use against Israel, possibly in the coming months.
